Stitch: Maple Stitch

Maple Stitch

This is a lovely stitch that I encountered in the 2-at-a time socks by Melissa Morgan-Oakes. When I look closely to this pattern, it is similar to the mock cable pattern. I never done mock cable stitch before, but I think the mock cable is similar to this maple stitch. Mock Cable is a stitch where you make a cable without using cable needle by twisting the loops. This is fun for any small projects such as cell phone cozy, socks and many more! So here is the instruction of this pattern:

1. Cast On 22 stitches. Usually you need to have even number of stitches

Row 1:  Do 2 x 2 ribbing until the end of stitches, start with Purl 2, Knit 2. At least do this for 10 rows and end in right side.

Row 2: *Purl 2, Knit trough back loop of second stitch, twist and knit the first stitch, drop the second stitch* repeat from * to * until end of row, turn your work

Row 3: *K2, P2* rep from * to * until 2 last sts,  P2

Row 4: *P2,K2* rep from * to * until 2 last sts,  K2

Repeat Row 2-4 for pattern.

Easy!

Happy mocking cable! 🙂

May Allah swt bless us all
