Yay.. my candy is here again :D

Alhamdulillah.. What makes a knitter and a crocheter happy if not yarns? Yup yup.. Right now, I am totally in heaven to see few of my parcels, alhamdulillah, had arrived! -Thank u So Much, PostMen! –

Yayy! For the first time, I picked really nice colour for my collections 🙂 These are Bali Yarns.. made in Indonesian ( as I know) 100% cotton.  can’t wait to have a try soon ( after done with my WIP insyaAllah ). Thanks Pu3craft! Love all the gifts too 🙂

Oh momy oh momy… this yarn is reallllly super soft xD. Rowan cotton, a swap with a friend, kak Wie as I call her 🙂 Oh i really totally fall in love with these yarns. Now I know why Rowan is a Rowan (lol) Guess, I really need to get this done nicely either with knitting or crochet, cause, it will be pitiful to see it gone waste. Kak Wie.. thanks a lot!

Yay… this yarns are from Turkey, arrived fast too! in just 10 days 🙂 Alhamdulillah..  Thank you so much Belgin! Really love this Nako yarna. I am sure I am going to drop by to your shop again! xD love this colour too.. thinking about making a vest for my loving ayah (dad) 🙂 InsyaAllah…

Today, we had a very long meeting, so many things were discussed and told, talking about this and that… however, one thing I learnt from all these talks.. is, no matter how and what, it is always you who make it comes true! 🙂

May Allah swt bless us, and no matter where we are and what we are up to in our life, may the rahmat of Allah never leave us even for a one second. Amin ya rabbal’alamin.

I miss 2 knit lah! xD

My latest knitting project. I bought the pattern like 2 years ago.. from the knitpicks.com site. I just love the simple pattern but yet it looks very romantic once you wear it xD So now, I decided to try out the pattern with using the Alize yarns given by my hubby.. hopefully i can finish this without delay. really do hope so xD

The edging part is amazingly pretty. Can’t believe that knitting can create such gorgeous lace edging 🙂 Started on 17 October 2011 – Finish by…. ? ? xD

Cara memulakan belajar mengait

Assalamualaikum everyone.. apa khabar? Semoga teman Da’Knit semua sihat sentiasa insyaAllah…

Kali ini Da’Knit ingin membuat pos mengenai Cara Memulakan Belajar Mengait sama ada Knitting ataupun Crochet.

Saya telah menerima sebuah email daripada seorang hamba Allah bertanyakan tentang cara memulakan mengait beg ataupun topi.

Oleh itu, disini, saya ingin memberikan panduan memulakan seni mengait ini. Diharap pos ini akan membantu anda yang juga ingin belajar mengait 🙂

1. Memahami asas mengait jarum kait dua (Knitting) ataupun jarum kait satu (Crochet)

2. Memahami istilah-istilah untuk Knitting dan Crochet

Istilah Knitting dan Crochet:

Untuk bacaan berbentuk instruction/arahan, kita harus memahami setiap istilah singkatan bagi bacaan tersebut. Untuk tujuan ini, anda boleh merujuk Knitting Abbreviations (sila klik link) untuk memahami setiap istilah.

Manakala untuk bacaan crochet, anda juga perlu memahami setiap istilah singkatan bagi bacaan pattern tersebut. Crochet hadir dalam bentuk arahan dan juga diagram. Bagi memahami istilah berbentuk arahan, anda boleh klik pada link ini: Crochet Abbreviations dan untuk memahami istilah simbol, anda boleh klik pada link ini: Crochet Symbols

Setiap istilah ini menyatakan jenis kaitan yang perlu kita buat. Oleh itu, anda perlu perhatikan juga cara kaitan (boleh rujuk di youtube.com) bagi setiap istilah untuk memudahkan anda membaca pattern dan mengait pattern tersebut.

3. Praktik Menggunakan Pattern yang Mudah.

Setelah anda memahami asas dan juga cara membaca istilah pattern, maka, anda sudah pun boleh memulakan kaitan anda dengan merujuk pattern yang mudah bagi mengait projek yang anda inginkan.

Anda boleh pilih pattern yang mudah.. kebiasaannya akan dinyatakan pattern tersebut adalah untuk Beginner. Cuba dan fahami setiap istilah di dalam pattern, dan kemudian kait perlahan-lahan mengikut arahan/simbol yang diberi. InsyaAllah, saya percaya anda boleh lakukannya!

4. Pemilihan Benang.

Pada masa kini, anda boleh mendapatkan pelbagai jenis benang yang menarik dari pelbagai jenis manufacture secara offline ataupun online. Di Malaysia, benang-benang yang biasa digunakan adalah terdiri daripada Nona, Minlon, Sakura, Wina, Venus, Orion Top dan pelbagai lagi jenis-jenis benang yang diperbuat daripada acrylic. Kebanyakkan benang-benang tempatan ini sesuai digunakan untuk mengait alas meja, beg, amigurumi namun secara kasarnya, kurang sesuai untuk digunakan mengait pakaian. Secara online pula, anda boleh mendapatkan benang-benang yang lebih baik kualiti dan mutunya untuk mengait baju, shawl, pakaian bayi dan pelbagai projek untuk keselesaan. Benang-benang ini boleh digunakan menggunakan satu jarum (crochet) mahupun dua jarum (knitting). Benang khas crochet yang dipanggil sebagai crochet thread sesuai digunakan untuk membuat lace ataupun doilies. Manakala benang-benang biasa (yang pelbagai saiz) sama ada crochet ataupun knitting, kedua-duanya boleh digunakan untuk mengait benang-benang ini. Pemilihan jarum dan benang adalah berdasarkan thickness benang tersebut. Semakin tebal benang, maka semakin besar saiz jarum yang digunakan dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Jikalau anda mengait merujuk pattern, maka adalah lebih elok anda mengait berdasarkan jarum dan benang yang dicadangkan. Jikalau tidak mempunyai benang ataupun jarum seperti di dalam pattern, maka peranan Gauge sangat penting dalam mendapatkan ukuran kaitan yang diinginkan.

Simple thing always lovely!

Lately, I’ve been playing with hooks more than my needles.. I guess, I just got addicted with the way how fast you can finish one project with crochet.. Knitting is always my favourite however, it’s not fair to leave out crochet as a hobby too. So I’ve been surfing around, gathering more crochet patterns to put into my collections, and then, I found this very lovely slipper from ZoomYummy.Com. Thank you so much for sharing 🙂

The tutorial is very clear, easy to be understood and so easy to make! For the first time, I took the challenge to crochet something that I never done yet before, this cute simple slipper! 🙂 Well.. since it’s my first time and just some trial and error, don’t ask me where is the other half :P. Because I’m so excited, I couldn’t wait to show it to you! ( Will move to second slipper insyaAllah.. soon!)

Tada!! My first slipper xD yay!! Alhamdulillah.. Oh yes, this rakuraku really feel good to be held. However, in my opinions, the clover comfort hook and rakuraku do give me the same feeling while crochet 😛 Both are comfortable and pain-relief if you are a core-crocheter. Oh and.. isn’t the yarn looks yummy?? xD This yarns was a swapped with kak Aisyah Helga. I really love this yarn so much because of the texture feel so like a fabric though the fiber was a 100% acrylic. This yarn is from ice yarns, summer rose. Unfortunately, there is no stock for this colour anymore.. 🙁 sob…

This hook is light, comfortable, and very nice! xD
