Free Crochet Pattern: January Baby/Toddler Beanie

Alhamdulillah.. we are still here, still breathing, still alive exactly on 1st January of 2014. Shouldn’t we be more grateful than before? 🙂 Well of course, there is nothing wrong in having a new big ambition for a new year, but remember. the fundamental of being a human is always to feel grateful for what we have and never being ashamed for what we don’t have. Always down to earth <3

However, the things that always never fail to amaze me is how the time works and always passed by like a blink of an eye. Leaving things behind like they were never happened. Feels like it was a dream, or a nightmare. SubhanAllah.. How great Allah is! Cause everything that happened, there is a blessing in disguise. SubhanAllah.

Oh, okay. The reason I am writing today is actually to share my new pattern 🙂
As how everyone else, I also want to take this opportunity and be a part on this exciting first of January 2014 with sharing my new pattern that I made 2 days ago. So I named it as January 🙂 Easy to remember hehe..

Assalamualaikum and good morning!

It’s great to finally get to sit back and updating this blog after a while. it’s now school holiday so more free time to do something i have planned.

Alright, lets see what i’ve been up too since few weeks ago.

Above picture is a sweater for my FB friend who just delivered a baby boy 🙂 I made it a bit bigger than newborn size. Always I love working with Alize Sekerim Bebe Batik (available at www.daknit.com). It is one of my most favourite yarns.

I have mentioned this one in my previous post. Oh momy, I love how it turns out at the end. I have made a heavy modification here from the original pattern (Silver Cardigan).  It’s quite big for my daughter, Jasmin. I used Nako Hosgeldin, it is very very soft and drapes beautifully. I can say that this is the most softest yarns we have in store currently. I totally fall in love with Hosgeldin and now also become my most favourite yarns too.

This will be a shawl soon. It’s a request by one of my colleague that I just recently knew during the SPM days. She wants it by 13th so I hope to finish it by 12th. The stitch is very simple. I found the pattern in ravelry (again). if you would like to try this out, search out for shawl v-stitch ok 🙂

This hat is also for my FB friend. I made a very simple baby beanie and attach a pom pom to make it look more attractive. The yarn is also very soft.

And lastly, this one is our customer’s pre order yarns. Alhamdulillah they finally arrived safely. It’s Nako Saten, Alize Sekerim and Nako Vals (Nako vals is coming soon!)

Alright, I better stop now and will write again soon. Thank you for hopping by and May Allah swt bless us all. Amin..

Free Tutorial: How To Knit Top Down Baby Cardigan

Assalamualaikum and good morning!

Well, let me get this straight to the point! I stumbled upon on a very very clear instruction and tutorial on how to knit a top down baby cardigan. It is awesome! It is what I actually need for my own reference too! Remember I was saying that I will try my best to create a tutorial for knitting a simple cardigan? For the passed 3 months, my brain was working hard in order to find a best way to present my ideas/tutorial on a paper though actually it’s a very simple work. However, because I’ve been thinking with too much details, it took longer than I expected. The more I try to figure out, the more I confuse.  Well, obsessive thinking is not healthy. LoL. What I mean is, things that is actually simple can turn into a complicated matter when you do it in a hard way (and at the end, you will only going to trouble yourself) and so, I decided to delay it for now. Moreover, in my current situation right now, I still need to work out on my gauge and measurement skills >_< (Means, more revision need to be done)

Also, I need to snap a clear photos of this tutorial, and for that one, I need to buy a new camera!

Since I am enjoying my school holiday at this moment, I’ll take the opportunity to start doing my own tutorial and hope I’ll be able to publish it before the school start again next year. What I need now is to write down an easy pattern and explain them in Malay Language. Insya Allah. May Allah swt make it easier for all of us. Amin.

Alright, so, here is the tutorial I was talking about. Have a try and enjoy your first Baby Cardigan! (Thousands of thank you to the author for her hard work!)

Gramps – adorable outerwear for your grouchy little old man – by Emily Wessel

For Knitting Teachers

This material is also intended to be useful to those who teach knitting. If you are a shop owner who runs knitting classes, and would like to use this tutorial for instruction, you are welcome to download the .pdfs and use them free of charge in your teaching activities.

My latest project and good news! :)

PB211061Today, I’m planning to finish this one first. This blouse suppose to be made in my daughter’s size. Since I start without measuring the gauge first, obviously its my fault that it turns 3x times bigger! And thus, it turns out to fit my youngest sister’s size (S). Using second ball now, hope to finish this by tomorrow, insya Allah.

The 31st of October..

Waa.. How long i haven’t been inside this blog, never notice that the time flies so fast! So true that the time  is really precious the more you grow older. So don’t waste your time on useless stuffs, okay? 🙂

Today is 31st October, in some places people are celebrating the Halloween day, meanwhile for me and my family, it’s my sister’s birthday today 🙂 Happy birthday I wish her. Still haven’t decide what should I give her for her birthday. Well.. let’s see 🙂

This week will be the last week of school for 2013. And then, the students will enjoy the holiday for almost 2 months!! 😀 *happy*. Obviously, it’s the only chance I have to knit and crochet as much as I can. Yep, barely can wait! I got so much things to do, and may Allah swt make it easier for us, amin amin amin.. ya rabbal’alamin.

Nevertheless, regardless of how busy I am with school, i still have to knit and crochet whenever I can, and so, below are some of the projects I made so far for the passed few weeks:
PA301030 asAlright, lets go to the first picture, the pink cardigan is a request from my best colleague. So, i need to make sure it will be an extra special handmade :). This is not hers in fact, it is a gift for one of our colleague who is going to have a baby girl soon 🙂 So sweet! May Allah swt bless her and her baby. This is a baby set, which, will be paired with a hat and booties (however, i still am thinking either it should be a pair of socks or booties).

The second picture is designed with ribbing and frankly speaking, I knit it with full of weird feelings! Oh yeah.. I’m not going to experience that again anymore and I’ll make sure it won’t happened again. However, still, at the end I am very happy with the result. The pattern comes along as I knit. For those who wanted to try this out, I am starting this hat with 128 cast on, seed stitch band, knit for few rows, and continue the body with 3knit 1 purl, and decrease every 32 stitch and so on.. 🙂 easy , right? Well, have a try!

In the meantime, I need to consider about opening a knitting class during this holiday as I received so many request about this. I do apologize that I have to turn down all these request as I really have no time to open one when i’m working. Insya Allah, I will look through at my schedule to see if i’m able to do so 🙂 and insya Allah, i’ll do my best to arrange a class soon.

Oh not to forget, we have new yarns in store, have you been notified? 🙂 Alhamdulillah.. we have more on the way <3 Please keep checking on us. Also,

adftoday, another Economy Crochet Hooks have safely arrived but unfortunately they are all sold out. Insya Allah will post them tomorrow.  But but, don’t be sad ya, cause the available Economy Crochet Hook Set is coming soon at www.daknit.com. So check us out from time to time ya! 😀

Thank you for shopping at www.daknit.com!

Well, I have to stop writing for now. I’ll see you again soon with new updates, insya Allah. Thank you for hopping by and i really appreciate your visit to my blog. Please don’t be hesitate to email us at sindarery@gmail.com regarding to our products and services. I may be reply a bit late (within 24-48 hours) but we’ll do our best to answer your needs. If you don’t get any reply after 3 days, please re-send us your email again. Perhaps, they have gone to SPAM folder.

Simply Pretty Baby Dress – First Trial!

dressAlhamdulillah.. I finished this dress within 1 week + (and yes, just now). Oh oh.. I really love how it turns out at the end, though, I kept being hesitated to choose either I should come up with lace or just simple basic knit. I used my daughter’s dress to get the measurement I need for 1 year old size. The ruffle was a trial and error and unexpectedly, it comes out like how I really wish to knit

As I said, I need to make a simple easy raglan cardigan as a Kit (but sorry.. I can not help myself but to knit a dress ) But insya Allah, it will be easy and I will try my best to make it easier for beginner to read and follow.

I’m going to make another one using different yarn (I’m planning to use Nako Luks Minnos) and re-write the pattern again.

Wish me luck again, and hope I can release the pattern by the end of September.

Happy knitting!
