Buku Pertama Saya: Variasi Asas Knitting (Mengait Jarum Dua)

Assalamualaikum and good morning to everyone πŸ™‚

I would love to introduce you with my very first book, Variasi Asas Knitting (Mengait Jarum Dua) that will be published soon by Karangkraf. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing my book is like a dream comes true <3

A thousands of thank you with lots of love to my husband for all his great support from the beginning till the end during the progress. Being my great photographer, the one who always encourage me to stand out, the one who always believe I can do more and far better than anyone else in this world ( oh yeah, that’s too much of course! lol ) Well.. no matter how, still, if not because of him, I would never have the chance to write. And not to forget, my parents who always there for me and give me all their supports! masya Allah, may Allah swt grant you all happiness and good health! Amin ya rabbal alamin.

I just hope and pray that this book will be useful for those who wants to learn to knit and love the art of yarns. I’ll be more happy to see the outcome than the book itself.Β  May this book helps you to enhance your hand skill and perhaps, it will open a way for you to gain something more than just a hobby. Insya Allah.

In this book, I include the steps of learning the basic knitting (you can view my free lesson at www.senimengait.com), increase, decrease, making simple accessories and 8 patterns that you can try out. You can always find me at www.facebook.com/daknit if you need help with my patterns. I will be happy to guide and assist you, insya Allah.

If you buy one, do tag me at IG ya! Follow my IG at @daknit_ery <3

Happy knitting!

Leaf and Knit

Assalamualaikum!

Well,Β  really, how long I have been away from my blog yea? but still, I would like to say thank you, to you who always hop by here.

I just wanted to share this pattern. Looks complicated to knit but yet, very easy πŸ™‚ I’ve been lingering on this pattern for quite long, not last week, not last month but since I learn to knit! and that was like 3-4 years ago. Oh Allah, why didn’t I start this at the first place? Huh! πŸ™‚

This pattern is written by Smariek. Somehow, I feel like I want to use the same stitch pattern for my next design. It’s already inside my head. I only need to start doing it and write it down soon. Perhaps, I’ll also include it in my first coming book insya Allah πŸ™‚

1900119_781161761907337_7311140613265278162_nThis is before blocking

10600553_781161721907341_6375594358805935876_nAfter blocking! πŸ™‚ Niceeee….

Now.. let’s have a look on its pattern!

Updated:

Twin Leaf Lace Cloth
Β© Designed by S.M. Kahn, October 2006
Smariek Knits -=<>=- http://smariek.blogspot.com

Please look at the Notes at the end of the pattern before starting.
Using WW cotton yarn and US7 (4.5mm) needles, cast on 32 stitches.

Knit 4 rows border.
Row 1 : B3, K2, P10, K2, P10, K2, B3
Row 2 : B3, P2, K6, /2, YO, K1, YO, P2, YO, K1, YO, 2\, K6, P2, B3
Row 3 : B3, K2, P10, K2, P10, K2, B3
Row 4 : B3, P2, K4, /2, K1, YO, K1, YO, K1, P2, K1, YO, K1, YO, K1, 2\, K4, P2, B3
Row 5 : B3, K2, P10, K2, P10, K2, B3
Row 6 : B3, P2, K2, /2, K2, YO, K1, YO, K2, P2, K2, YO, K1, YO, K2, 2\, K2, P2, B3
Row 7 : B3, K2, P10, K2, P10, K2, B3
Row 8 : B3, P2, /2, K3, YO, K1, YO, K3, P2, K3, YO, K1, YO, K3, 2\, P2, B3

Repeat Rows 1 through 8 three more times.

Work one more row : B3, K2, P10, K2, P10, K2, B3
Knit 4 rows border.
Bind off and weave in ends.

Notes:

B3 = 3 stitch side border of your choice (I used K3 for my border in both cloths above)

SSK = slip one stitch, slip another stitch, knit these two slipped stitches together

/2 = Right slanting (double) decrease as follows: SSK, then slip the NEXT stitch over the stitch just made by moving stitches from needle to needle. —– Viz. Slip 1 stitch. Slip another stitch. Knit these 2 (slipped) stitches together. Move this resulting stitch to the left needle. Now use the right needle to pass the NEXT stitch over it (the stitch you just moved to the left needle). Now slip the stitch back to the right needle. —– See below for further clarification & walk through if this still does not make sense.

2\ = Left slanting (double) decrease as follows: Slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together, pass slipped stitch over. (This is exactly the same as the SK2TP notation I have used in my other patterns)

MORE at: http://smariek.blogspot.com/2006/11/twin-leaf-lace-cloth.html

This is my first time encountered to these term, /2 and \2. It’s confusing at first, reading and understand won’t help much. You need to read and do it at the same time then it will make sense πŸ™‚ trust me!

By the way,

I would like to take this opportunity to inform our lovely customers that on 1 September 2014, we are officially moving to a new store, located in Central Plaza Kota Kinabalu, 2nd Floor πŸ™‚ Do drop by.

Sadly to say, we are no longer operate in Wisma Muis. Bye bye Muis. You will always be remembered in our heart :'( oh so sad!

Love,

Benang Kait

1618522_694535183903329_1534576941_n
