WIP of My Slow Shello Muffler ..
Frankly, I am not very good in designing a pattern. Refering to books and free patterns are always the best way to learn something new, especially when you try to create your own masterpiece… Thus, whenever you came up with an idea, it is always the best to start with the basic, and definitely goes same when it comes to crochet. After quite awhile I leave my hook and needles aside.. this is my second attempt of making something new, but yet, something basic. This Shello Muffler I called, looks complicated but yet very easy when you start making it :). I come up with and idea of making a muffler after I watched my hubby helping me untangled this yarn for few hours.. ahh.. thank you so much, canim! If not because of him, I would already cut the yarn in the middle and leave the others 😛 so wasting aren’t I? My bad habit!
Using a ball of Alize Diva Yarn and 2.5mm hook.. I created this Shello Muffler. Why I called it a Shello Muffler? Hehe.. the word shello actually comes from Shell.. the pattern stitch i used are mostly the combination of shell. So its pretty easy! Yup, believe or not, you also can do it! I am not sure how many balls I will need to complete this one, but since I have two balls of this colour, so it will be more than enough to make one long muffler. Just that I have to make sure I am not stressing myself to finish this. Yea.. going to crochet it very slow… especially the school is going to open again next week.. oh well! Let’s forget it 😛
I miss to knit too.. Still thinking to knit something for myself.. but let’s see how! Perhaps a baby dress or sweater? 🙂

Knitting Hat Tutorial with 2 straight Needles by Da'Knit
Assalamualaikum semua.. alhamdulillah hari ini saya berkesempatan untuk membuat tutorial membuat topi yang paling ringkas dan senang bagi sesiapa yang ingin baru belajar mengait jarum dua. Semoga tutorial ini dapat membantu kita semua insyaAllah. NOTE: Saya menggunakan jarum circular tetapi cara tutorial ini adalah untuk jarum kait dua biasa.
Bahan-bahan yang diperlukan:
1 pasang jarum kait dua (1 pair of knitting needles) saiz 4.5mm
1 buku benang Magic Baby 100gm
1 batang jarum crochet (crochet hook) saiz 3.5mm
Gunting
Pattern:
Stockinette Stitch ( Asas yang perlu diketahui adalah Cast On, Knit, Purl dan Bind Off)
Ribbing ( 2 x 2 RIBBING = *KNiT 2 kali, PURL 2 Kali* ulang dari * ke * )
K2TOG , Knit 2 together (KNiT 2 sts sekali kaitan)
KNIT SIDE (right side)
PURL SIDE (wrong side)
Langkah-langkah:
1. Cast On menggunakan Long Tail Cast On sebanyak 72 sts.
Seperti gambar di atas, pastikan setelah membuat cast on, buat 2 x 2 RIBBING sebanyak 10 baris.
ROW 1 (right side) : *Knit 2, Purl 2* ulang dari * ke * sehingga habis baris pertama. ROW 2 (wrong side) : *Purl 2, Knit 2* ulang dari * ke * sehingga habis baris kedua. ULANG ROW 1- ROW 2 sehingga 10 KALI.
2. Setelah selesai RIBBING, pada baris seterusnya .. kait KNiT sehingga habis baris pada KNiT SIDE. Kemudian, pada baris seterusnya, kait PURL sehingga habis baris pada PURL SIDE. Maksudnya, sebaris KNiT, sebaris PURL.
Teruskan mengait KNiT dan PURL sehingga panjang kaitan anda sekurang-kurangnya 10-15 cm dari Cast On (mengikut panjang yang anda suka)
Setelah itu, DECREASE akan bermula untuk membuat TOP.
Memandangkan bilangan stitches yang digunakan adalah nombor genap, maka kita boleh membuat DECREASE sebanyak 4 kali pada baris RIGHT SIDE. Merujuk pada gambar di atas, 72/4 = 18 sts. Bermakna, setiap sts yang ke 17 dan 18 kita akan buat K2TOG untuk decrease. K2TOG ialah Knit 2 together. STITCH MARKERS digunakan untuk menanda tempat berlakunya DECREASE. Maka, setiap 18 sts, kita letakkan Stitch Markers.
KNiT 2 TOGETHER pada 2 sts terakhir sebelum STiTCH MARKERS.
3. Seterusnya, pada RIGHT SIDE, lakukan DECREASE (k2tog) pada setiap SEBELUM Stitch Markers.
4. PADA SETIAP WRONG SIDE, kait PURL seperti biasa tanpa decrease.
5. ULANG LANGKAH 3-4 sehingga stitches yang tinggal di atas jarum hanya ada sekurang-kurangnya 8-12 sts. Setelah itu, BIND OFF stitches yang tinggal.
Dah siap BIND OFF…
Setelah itu, gunakan jarum crochet untuk mencantum belahan tadi melalui PURL SIDE.

My current projects and a cute bunny!
Assalamualaikum everyone! Alhamdulillah, finally i have the chance to update Da’Knit today! Oh yes, hope I am not late to wish you happy weekend 🙂
This is my current project.. honestly.. this cardigan I preferred to say.. has been delayed for more than a month.. oh Allah.. I really hope my colleague can understand 🙁 I will do my best to finish this before the end of month.. Few more rows then I will start knitting the body part. Actually the size requested should be for 1 year old.. however, I increase the gauge to fit 2-3 years old so that he can wear this long enough.
In the same time.. I am doing my best to complete a new request by kak Natasha using Magic Merino yarns .. (Thank you kak! 🙂 ) I just started knitting this and hopefully i will be able to finish this by this end of month too along with the other one. She requested 2 vests anddddd i promise will do my best to make a nice vest for her 🙂
Owwww… this is so cute bunny! xD Thanks a lot Yuu.. I didn’t make this one, yet, I never try to knit/crochet any amigurumi (Not sure when I’ll be able to make one for myself..) Benang Kait: Summer Mercerized
Question: What is Mercerized Cotton?
Answer: Mercerized cotton is a special kind of cotton yarn that is more lustrous than conventional cotton. It is also stronger, takes dye a little more readily, makes the yarn more resistant to mildew and reduces lint. It also may not shrink or lose its shape as much as “regular” cotton.
Mercerization, the process by which mercerized yarn is made, is named for the British chemist John Mercer, who developed the process and received a patent for his work in 1851.
Mercer found that adding caustic soda (lye) or sulfuric acid to cotton made the fiber swell and straighten. No one was too impressed by that, but in 1890 Horace Lowe developed a process by which caustic soda was added to the yarn under high tension, which added the luster that mercerized cotton is famous for today.
The process of making mercerized cotton is rather complex; if you’d like to read more about it there is an excellent (though technical) article at FiberArts.org.
Mercerized yarn stays shiny through washing and gives a nice, somewhat fancier look to finished items.
