Must finish this!

Assalamualaikum and happy weekend to all! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend with family, friends and someone special…   🙂

So.. what am I up to in this weekend?

Huhuhuhu…  for now.. I promised myself that I will not start any new project unless I had done knitting this.. So I am knitting the front part now.

Not bad for a first try I think ..  🙂
This is going to be my first wearable project. and hopefully, sooner, I’ll be done with this one and then, I will be free to start any new project again huhu… especially The Hat for a bestfriend that is still in my to-do-list 🙁

InsyaAllah.. when I finish this, I will share it here 🙂 This pattern is very easy for those who wants to improve their knitting skill to another level 🙂 Wish me luck!

And beside.. I was trying to crochet a piece using the Merino Magic Yarn..

A small try with hook.. And I learnt that, knitting and crocheting will bring out difference texture and feel to the yarn even you are using same yarns for this two. Amazing! Both Knit and Crochet simply has their own specialty..

Free Patterns: Ribbed Cabled Phone Cozy

Ribbed Cabled Phone Cozy

Here, I’m going to share this pattern that designed by me for free. However, please do not use this pattern for your own commercial. Personal use only. Materials:

3.5 mm x 80 cm circular needle ( I am doing Magic Loop technique for not to have trouble in sewing both seam, also, it’s easy and quick!)

Merino Magic Yarn (from Yarnsonlineshop.Com) or you can use any 4 ply/sport yarn that will fit the gauge.

Tapestry Needle for Kitchener Stitch

Cable needle

crochet hook of 3.00 mm

thread, button and sewing needle

Gauge:  This is 1 x 1 Rib Gauge..  16 sts and 35 rows to 4 x 4 inch

Skill Level: EASY

Instructions:

1.

Cast On 40 sts and divide them fairly onto two needle of circular. ( 20 sts and 20 sts since we are going to knit in the round)

2.

Start the row with  k1, p1, k1, p1 until the end of row on both needles ( keep doing this 1 x 1 rib pattern until the desired length or at least 2 cm from beginning of rows) and end on second needle then we will move forward to make cable pattern.

Cable pattern:

First needle: K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K8 , K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1,

Second needle: *k1,p1* — rep * to * til end…

next row on first needle:

K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, C8F, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1

**C8F ( move 4 sts onto cable needle and put on front, continue to knit 4 sts on needle and knit the 4 sts on cable needle)

Second needle:

K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1.. till end

On first needle again:

(K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K8, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1)

**On every rows of first needle, repeat this two rows:

ROW 1/Cable row:  K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, C8F, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1

ROW 2-6: (K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K8, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1) x 5 rows before next cable row

**On every rows of second needle, keep doing 1 x 1 Rib without Cable.

Until you get the desired length, close the bottom with kitchener stitch that you can find in this link for 1 x 1 rib (thanks to the author of this technique)

Final step (to make the lid):

With using crochet hook, pick up a stitch on first sts from any side at the back (no-cable side) that you feel comfortable to start your lid at the top of body. Do SC until the end of row. Then continue the next row with DC for at least 3-4 rows before making decrease. After done, cut the yarn. Sew button on the cable side to which will fit your lid. Tada! Done!

Second Design: Ribbed Cabled Handphone Cozy

Semalam.. saya telah mencuba benang Merino Magic (50% merino 50% acrylic) dari Yarnsonlneshop.Com kerana begitu curious hendak tahu bagaimana texturenya dan warna strip magicnya bila dah siap. Tapi rasanya sebab projek handphone ni kecil sahaja.. tidak berapa nampak sangat lebih-lebih lagi guna handphone camera… colour sedikit lain dari yang real 🙁

New handphone cozy of my own pattern design..hihi.. simple and quick!

Wahh.. the big one looks so yummy 😛 here.. somehow, here in this picture, I managed to shoot these two yarns without losing the quality of the colour, means just as exactly as the real one.

Benang Merino datangnya dari bulu kambing Merino yang biasanya kuantitinya terhad setiap tahun berbanding benang dari Wool. Feel texture Merino ni memang lembut dan gebu rasanya. Kalau 100% Merino mesti lagi gebu huhu…

Dan akhirnya inilah pattern baru saya… sangat senang untuk beginner. Hanya perlu tahu 1 x 1 rib dan cable pattern. Bahagian tutupnya saya gunakan kait crochet dc. Saya menggunakan jarum circular 3.5 mm x 80 cm dengan teknik Magic Loop dan crochet hook saiz 3.00 mm.

Ini handphone adik saya.. semalam waktu cuba, dia kata dia mahu cozy ni jadi saya bagi dia terus lepas siap. Magic yarn bagi hasil stripping seolah-olah menggunakan lebih dari 2-3 warna benang.

Maaf ya sebab camera phone, gambar jadi kurang kualitinya hehe.. tetapi banyak jasanya pada saya, still appreciate it so much! Inilah rupa phone cozy bila masukkan phone di dalamnya.. at least yang penting si pemakai dia terima. Percaya atau tidak.. ini utk adik lelaki saya. hahaha..just as i see.. they don’t care much about colours hihi..

Projek kali ini merupakan percubaan yang baik buat saya Alhamdulillah.. jadi lepas ni, boleh terus continue dengan projek topi yang saya sdh lama ingin kaitkan buat sahabat baik saya menggunakan benang ni. Ada tiga pattern yang sangat berkenan dihati huhu.. salah satunya yang dibawah ni.. antara Newsboy Cap pattern yang sangat menarik hati…

The final touch up.. for my alas meja.. aka doily

The final touch up will be binded off with crochet hook.. huhu.. making this took a long time… and hardwork needed.. well.. i hope you can imagine the final look 🙂
