Ulasan Buku//Book Review:
Sewaktu saya mula-mula belajar mengait jarum kait dua pada tahun 2009, youtube.com adalah di antara guru pertama yang banyak membantu saya memahami -step by step- how to knit. Saya juga cuba mencari beberapa buku antaranya seperti Big Book of Knitting, Teach Yourself Visually Knitting, Not Your Mama’s Knitting, dan beberapa buku yang lain.

“When I first learnt to knit around 2009, youtube.com is one of my first teacher that taught me step by step how to knit. Besides that, I also searched and bought many kind of books such as Big Book of Knitting, Teach Yourself Visually Knitting, Not Your Mama’s Knitting and few more”

Iaitu Maran Illustrated Knitting & Crocheting.

“When I want to purchase a new book, looking for download version is what i mostly do when I want to have a look before deciding to purchase the book. Especially, when it is very difficult to find good books here in Malaysia. Reading the reviews and seeing the content helps me to get the idea what kind of book is this. To avoid frustration, I made many searched before buying. Finally, I found this book named, Maran Illustrated Knitting and Crocheting”

“In 2010, I made my first knitted Vest for adult with the help of this book! Alhamdulillah, Without doubt, I can say that this book is one of the best book I have ever used to learn Knitting and Alhamdulillah, I am very happy to own the hardcopy of this book and I have no regret at all”

“I recommend this book for beginners or for starter who wants to learn knitting. This book is the best teacher that can teach you how to knit. The explanation along with a clear pictures are easy to understand without hassle”

“Besides knitting, a bonus for you! This book also teaches you how to crochet”

Usaha tangga kejayaan bak kata pepatah

“This book won 5 stars among the 30 readers in Amazon.Com, which tells us that we should have this book in our bookshelf!”Therefore, please don’t be afraid to invest on books. As we all know, there is no FREE knowledge as the good one always ask for some pennies! 🙂

20140503_104106Final touch (this is an optional)
Usually, crocheting/knitting with acrylic yarns will produce fuzzy on the surface of the project. Sometimes the texture comes out a bit stiff and scratchy. This doesn’t mean your project has ruined. With a little technique, we can turn the project into fabulous handmade. So, what I mostly do:
1. After finish, I’ll use lint remover to remove any hairy that looks annoying to me as much as I can do. It is very impossible to remove them completely unless you do the “Killing Acrylic” method, which, useful only on certain projects. And I don’t suggest that!

20140503_1050212. Since I learnt how to “steam blocking”, most of my project will be blocked with steam iron. Steaming and blocking your project especially for someone like me who use acrylic in most of my project, will help the project to be softer, fluffy, and less fuzzy also, not itchy! However, again, make sure you don’t KILL your project or otherwise, it will turn into your worst nightmare! :O

20140503_105739

At last, after blocking and dry, it’s time to wash!

Don’t hesitate to throw your project in the washing machine cause most of acrylic yarns are best to wash with washing machine. I’ll put them inside the net and pour a little softener. Then dry it using a hanger or just dry them flat on the table. Once dry, you will be amazed to see your project turn out just nice and beautiful.

Last but not least, thank you for trying out my pattern. This pattern is very simple, once you do, it will be so addictive to make more! 🙂

Please and do share your project using this pattern with me at my Ravelry = Snowhitery. Let me know how you think! You can also put flowers, button or ribbons to make it looks cuter! Let your imagination run wild <3
